My sisters are: Julia, Shauna, Rosalie, Rolene and brother Donald. To identify us in the picture - back row from left to right is Julia, Shauna and (me) Sherrie. Front row is Rolene, Donald and Rosalie. I am a twin to Shauna. We are like night and day in our personalities. We were born five minutes apart. She was first and has always been first to me. Our birth certificates state that we are identical twins. Seriously!!!! we still wonder about that. Shauna has dark hair, is taller than I, she is has an outgoing personality and knows how to talk to everyone. I have red hair, short, shy and reserved. You wouldnt know we were twins unless you knew. We couldn't play the twin jokes. For years, some of our classmates didn't even know we were twins. Some thought we were cousins. We were in the same grade at school but never in the same classes. In Jr High we were called "Burnt out" (Shauna) and "flame one" (me). Shauna always had the boyfriends and lots of dates. Me -- not! I was blessed to have many incredible friends -- didn't date, but had great guy friends and great girl friends.
As a young girl I had flaming red hair. The boys would pull my long braids and call me "carrot top". But I didn't break a slate over a boys' head like Anne of Green Gables did. Red hair has its reputation. Some people like redheads and some do not at all. My dad loved red hair. Julia and Donald also have red hair.
With five girls and one boy, my parents were busy with our family. I will put more posts on about my family. We are all grown now with families of our own. My parents have both passed away and left us with a great legacy. I was definately born of great parents who loved each other and each of us.
This picture was taken two months before my dad passed away. July 2009
Top: Julia, Donald. Rolene and Shauna. Bottom: Rosalie, Mom, Dad, and me Sherrie
